Beschreibung

At first glance, one might not recognize a direct connection between the art history humanities and the narrative design of games. Of course, there is more than one point of contact (otherwise my professional focus would make little sense). This free workshop offers an overview of how art historical content and methods can be used for games. This can be exciting for historical settings. But it doesn't have to be, because I'm not interested in historical accuracy, but in developing multi-layered, appealing and interesting narratives. Which game areas does this suit? Environment design: landscape and nature representation, cities & villages, individual buildings, representative buildings, aesthetically and architecturally designed interiors & exteriors in one form or another (in other words, all of them) Level design: architectural design of dungeons, urban planning in open worlds, routing and guidance systems Open World Design: How do you fill an entire world? How can information be conveyed? Narrative & atmosphere: How do you show the story of a world? How do you develop persuasive power? What emotions do we associate with certain representations of spaces, designs or buildings? The workshop is perfect as a team event and for team building! In addition to the content input, there is plenty of room for exchange and discussion.
